Accommodation FAQs

1.Main Guest House is listed as non-AC. This implies that the others are AC. We should explicitly write which are AC and which are non-AC

Only Main guest house has AC and non-AC rooms others (Hoysala house, Jawahar guest house and centenary guest houses are non-AC). We are only getting non-AC rooms as AC rooms are reserved for Institute Guests.

2. Similarly Hoysala house rate does not show any GST. Does it mean this rate includes GST? We should show the all-inclusive rate with taxes included for all.

3. If Hoysala is single occupancy, are the others twin-sharing? Will there be any triple-sharing rooms?

Hoysala rooms are single occupancy rooms
Jawahar guest house are double occupancy rooms. Charges are per person per day (Rs. 1000/- + GST)
Guest house and Centenary guest house (CVH) are all single occupancy rooms with queen size bed

4. What is the breakfast and dinner arrangement? Is breakfast included?

No food is provided at Hoysala house, and Jawahar guest house
Food is provided at Guest house and CVH has food at extra cost
Breakfast Rs. 90/- + 5% GST
Lunch/ dinner veg Rs. 135/- + 5% GST
Lunch/ dinner nonveg Rs. 175/- + 5% GST

5. Do they pay at check-in at the front desk of the guest house? Or at checkout? What is the mode of payment – cash/card/UPI?

Hoysala house - Payment can be made by the visitor at the time of check-out , cash or UPI is accepted, no card.
Jawahar guest house – payment can me made by the visitor at the time of check-out, only cash, no UPI or card.
Guest house and CVH cash or UPI no card payment

6. Payment – Can this be done at the time of check-in or check-out? Or is an advance payment required?

7. Would it be okay for students to direct their enquiries to Sunitha?

Yes.

8. Are these rooms mainly intended for students?

Hoysala house – students/ post docs
Jawahar guest house – students/ post docs

Guest house & CVH – visitors needs to be at least at the level of lecturer & above, international post docs are allowed, no students
Preferable that Hoysala and Jawahar Guest House be kept for Indian students

9. Who will respond to mails from participants for accommodation – Sunitha or a designated student from your lab?

10. How will you know if a particular guest house has become full?

Best if people send in a request to Sunitha; she will check with me and then we can respond.

11. If the guest houses don't fill up, will you keep the bookings open indefinitely till the end of the conference, or close on a particular date?

Yes, booking will remain till end of conference
